UK Proposed Civil Partner Visa

The UK Proposed Civil Partner Visa allows engaged partners of British or Irish citizens, individuals settled in the UK, those with pre-settled status, Turkish Businessperson or Turkish Worker visa holders, and persons with refugee status or humanitarian protection to enter the UK with the intention of registering a civil partnership within six months of arrival. This visa must be applied for from outside the UK.

While the Proposed Civil Partner Visa itself does not lead directly to settlement, it provides a pathway to extend your stay in the UK by transitioning to the Civil Partner Visa upon registering your civil partnership. The Civil Partner Visa can ultimately lead to indefinite leave to remain or settlement in the UK after five years.
