UK Fiancé Visa

The UK Fiancé Visa is designed for individuals engaged to British or Irish citizens, those settled in the UK, holders of pre-settled status, Turkish Businessperson or Turkish Worker visa holders, or individuals with refugee status or humanitarian protection. This visa allows you to enter the UK with the intention of marrying your partner within six months of arrival. It is important to note that applications for this visa must be made from outside the UK.

While the Fiancé Visa itself does not lead directly to settlement, it provides a pathway to extend your stay through the Spouse Visa route after marriage. The Spouse Visa, in turn, can lead to indefinite leave to remain or settlement in the UK after five years.

Requirements for a UK Fiancé Visa

To qualify for a UK Fiancé Visa, you must meet the following requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration:

• Eligible Partner: Your partner must be a British or Irish citizen, settled in the UK, have pre-settled status, hold a Turkish Businessperson or Turkish Worker visa, or possess refugee status or humanitarian protection.

• Age Requirement: Both you and your partner must be at least 18 years old.

• In-Person Meeting: You and your partner must have met in person.

• Genuine Relationship: Your relationship must be genuine and ongoing.

• Marriage Intent: You must intend to marry your partner within six months of arriving in the UK.

• Previous Relationships: Any previous relationships must be permanently ended.

• Permanent Living Intention: You must intend to live together permanently in the UK after marriage.

• Financial Requirement: You must be able to maintain yourself without recourse to public funds.

• Accommodation: There must be adequate accommodation available for you and any dependents.

• English Language: You must meet the required English language proficiency level.
